Step 1: Introduction to the lunch module #

The lunch module in MyDesk allows your employees to book lunch when they reserve a desk space. This module can be customized to offer different lunch options such as vegetarian, allergy-friendly menus or a regular buffet.

Lunch can also be set up to be periodized, meaning time limits can be created for when employees can sign up and how many can arrive at the same time. This helps manage the number of people meeting at the same time, which is especially useful in smaller canteen areas.

Step 2: Manage lunch offers #

To manage lunch offers, you need administrator rights in MyDesk. Once you have these rights, you can find the lunch administration under “Administration”. Here you can select “Lunch” to start creating or modifying lunch offers.

This is where you can add new lunch menus, set start and end times, and decide whether the offer should be active for a certain period or run constantly. You can also specify how many people can sign up for each menu daily.

Step 3: Creating lunch menus #

When creating a new lunch menu, give it a name that can include what’s on the menu, such as “Vegetarian menu” or “Buffet”. It’s important to indicate how far in advance employees need to order lunch so that the canteen can plan purchases.

You can also choose how many employees can sign up for a specific menu. Once the menu is created, it needs to be activated to become available to employees.

Step 4: Monitoring lunch sign-ups #

After creating lunch offers, you can monitor registrations by seeing how many people have signed up for a particular lunch. This can be done through the “view booking” function or via the catering management module if you use it.

Step 5: Update existing bookings #

If an employee has made a desktop booking without adding lunch, they can still update their booking to include lunch. This can be done via mobile, Outlook, or wherever MyDesk is implemented.

It’s a flexible feature that ensures employees can add lunch to their reservations even after the original booking has been made.

Step 6: How to make the lunch module efficient #

To get the most out of the lunch module, it’s important to adapt it to your specific needs. Think about which lunch options are most relevant to your employees and how time restrictions can help avoid congestion in the canteen.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage lunch offers through MyDesk, making it easier for employees to enjoy a seamless lunch experience at work.
